Brian McCallister works as a Distinguished Engineer at Ning, the world’s largest platform for creating social websites. In that capacity he has lead the design and implementation of one of the original Platform as a Service offerings on the Internet, and its technical and product evolution since the beginnings of the company. Brian has also served as a Vice President and Director of the Apache Software Foundation, which develops a wide range of open source software, including the software powering 70 percent of the World Wide Web. Brian specializes in consumer Internet systems, the intersection of group social dynamics and technology, and community driven open source.
